Après avoir accompagné son mari à la gare et envoyé son fils chez sa belle-mère, Sadako est suivie jusque chez elle par un jeune homme. Celui-ci force la porte de sa maison et la viole. La jeune femme, humiliée, en garde le secret. Quelques jours plus tard, Hiraoka, revient et lui explique que malade du cœur, il ne lui reste que peu de temps à vivre. Une passion déchainée va lier ces deux amants et Sadako ne voit qu’une seule issue: la mort.

After accompanying her husband to the station and sending her son to live with his mother-in-law, Sadako is followed home by a young man. He forces his way into her house and rapes her. The humiliated young woman keeps it a secret. A few days later, Hiraoka returns and tells her that she has a heart condition and only a short time to live. An unbridled passion binds the two lovers, and Sadako sees only one way out: death.
